Terms of Service

Last updated: 6 August 2026

No legal entity has been registered for this service. There is no company name, no official postal address, no jurisdiction, and no governing law asserted by these terms. The operator must supply an entity name, official postal address, and applicable jurisdiction before these terms bind any legal person. Until that information is provided, this document is an honest description of how the tool operates and what limitations apply, not a legally binding contract.

Service description

robotsread is a diagnostic tool that checks whether a given URL can be indexed by search engine crawlers. It fetches the URL and its robots.txt, parses four indexability signals (robots.txt directives, meta robots tags, X-Robots-Tag headers, and canonical links), and returns a verdict with the specific rule that produced it.

No accounts, no data storage

robotsread does not create user accounts, store submitted URLs, log requests, or retain any data. Every check is stateless and ephemeral. There is no mechanism for saving, sharing, or scheduling checks. There is no email sender, and no email notifications or alerts are provided or planned.

Billing

Nothing is charged today. robotsread has no payment processor connected and cannot take payment from anyone. The entire tool is free to use. The Professional plan shown on the pricing page is a roadmap item, not a product for sale. The checkout form on the pricing page is a demonstration only: it does not accept payment, does not create a subscription, and data entered into it is not stored or used.

The terms below describe what will apply to paid plans if and when a payment processor is connected and a plan is offered for sale. They take effect only at that point and will be confirmed on this page before any charge is made.

No warranty

The tool is provided “as is” without any warranty, express or implied. The verdict is based solely on the four signals parsed from the fetched resources. robotsread does not and cannot:

Limitations of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator of this tool shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the tool, including but not limited to decisions made based on the tool’s verdict.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the tool after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing law

No governing law is specified because no legal entity or jurisdiction has been established. When the operator registers a legal entity and identifies a jurisdiction, this section will be updated accordingly.
